A bully in school with the strong personality, Yoo Hye Jung (Park Shin Hye) is a troubled teen and every teachers’ nightmare. She was expelled again and her father drove her down to stay with her grandmother and asked her not to contact him ever again. The painful childhood shaped her attitude and after meeting her high school teacher Hong Ji Hong (Kim Rae Won), everything starts to change.
The drama is not the best to binge watch as I feel that the political side took away 50% of the story.
(similar to Itaewon Class) First few episodes tells us the full background of Hye Jung and how she became the fighter-doctor in the hospital. After meeting Ji Hong and her desire to let her grandmother live a better life, she start to change gradually.
A simple surgery cost her grandmother’s life made Hye Jung lose her closest kin. She is determine to find out what happened during the surgery.
Jin Seo Woo (Lee Sung Kyung) and Chun Soon Hee (Moon Jin In) soon became her best friends in high school after she sets her mind to change a new leaf. Seo Woo is the top student in school with a family of doctors, she leads a princess life and has a crush on their teacher Ji Hong. Things changed when Hye Jung became the top student in class and Ji Hong pay more attention to her.
One fire broke their friendship and Hye Jung is expelled due to the teacher-student romance news that Seo Woo wrote anonymously. Thankfully, Soon Hee stood by her side.
Transfer to new hospital
13 years later, when everyone expects Hye Jung to lead a thug life she stepped into the hospital as a skilled neurosurgeon. Just than, Ji Hoon was poached into the hospital to lead the neurosurgery team.
Many cases and the political (management) side of the hospital happens concurrently. One of the saddest moment is when you have to operate on one of your doctor, Choi Kang Soo (Kim Min Seok) is a doctor that reports to Hye Jung collapse.
