The drama revolves around the Moon brothers and an unique fairy tale writer. Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun) is a community health worker in mental hospital, moving from one to another because of his elder brother Moon Sang Tae (Oh Jung Se) who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Cross path with the Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji), the fairy tale writer that Sang Tae loves. However, she has an antisocial personality disorder and her storybooks are not the happily ever after genre which is found in typical fairy tale books.

Moon Young is an arrogant and self-centered person, she is obsess with sharp objects like knife, scissors and you can name it. She was raised in a castle in deep forest built by her father. The way she was brought up is unlike any other people, she have a difficult childhood which cause her extreme thoughts.

After meeting Kang Tae, she realized that he is the only person that can calm her down and feels like her safely pin.

Always moving

After Sang Tae witness their mother got murdered right before him, he saw the butterfly broach on the murderer and start to develop fear of butterflies. Whenever he dream of the butterflies chasing him, the Moon brothers will move to another part in South Korea.

Over the years, Gang Tae’s friend Jo Jae Soo (Kang Gi Dong) move together with them to support them physically and mentally. When Gang Tae move from hospital to hospital, Jae Soo rent different restaurants and hire Sang Tae as part timer.

Run out of place to go, Sang Tae agree to head back to the hometown where they grew up in. Nam Joo Ri (Park Kyu Young) who has a crush on Gang Tae introduce him to work with her in the mental hospital.

When Moon Young knew Gang Tae move out of Seoul, she track him down and follow him to the village where she grew up in. She moved back into the abandon haunted castle deep in the forest where her father built.

Moving into the castle

Moon Young gave the biggest opportunity to Sang Tae, to work as an illustrator for her books. Sang Tae want her to buy a RV instead of paying him in return. Since they are constantly on the move, Sang Tae wanted to save enough money for a RV (a moving house).

The Moon brothers move into the castle where Moon Young lives and work.

Cut off the leash

Every story book written by Moon Young hide a deeper meaning. Ever since she move back, Moon Young’s fear and nightmare went creeping back to her. Gang Tae witness her suffering from the nightmares and gave her ‘Mang Tae’, a doll he made to catch nightmares that used to belong to Sang Tae.

Gang Tae gave Moon Young the courage to cut of the ‘leash’ she had connected to her mother.

Did not end there

Moon Young’s mother did not die years ago, she survived and undergo knife so that no one recognize her. The psycho mother came back to find her daughter and hate the idea of being weak.

We are family

Wanting the best of both worlds, for a moment, Gang Tae thought he can have both. But reality struck him like a sledgehammer. Sang Tae want Gang Tae to be with him forever and no one can have a piece of him.

Selfish Moon Young did not understand why she can’t be with Gang Tae and went to reason with Sang Tae. The fights are adorable by the way.

Use time and Moon Young is willing to spend time and effort to let Sang Tae accept her. She feel the warmth from them and she want it more. After seeing Gang Tae happy face for the first time, Sang Tae start to realize he needs to be more understanding.

Ever since the photo shoot, Sang Tae accepted Moon Young as their family member. Even when she tries to shut them out of her live, Sang Tae will not give up and leave her.

Finding the face

Sang Tae finally debut as an illustrator and the book is written based on the three of them. Losing their face and finding it back themselves, the journey they took and obstacles they face is a perfect summary.
