6 Best Korean Drama in 2021 based on the rating above 4 stars

We are halfway through 2021 and the world is getting better day by day. To sum up the half-year mark, here are some of the Korean dramas that accompanied us from Winter to Summer. And for those who are new to Korean dramas or yet to catch up on any of the latest dramas, here’s the list of recommendations I have.

Taxi Driver

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Sort of see it coming that I will enjoy watching this drama based on the synopsis. Even though there is a minor hiccup but I love that they found Pyo Ye Jin for Ahn Go Eun’s role. Almost zero romance was written and it’s full-on action and kick-ass revenge plans.

SBS’s production, Taxi Driver 모범택시 is a taxi service that seeks revenge on behalf of victims who are unable to seek justice through law. The five members of the Rainbow Taxi include the former special forces soldier Kim Do Gi, the leader Jang Sung Cheol, the IT hacker Ahn Go Eun, and the engineering duo Choi Kyung Goo and Park Jin Uhn.

True Beauty

For those who love romantic comedy, this is a MUST to watch. Adapted from the ever-popular webtoon True Beauty, ever since they first announced the making, I’ve been looking forward and monitoring for any news updates. This drama is a personal breakthrough for actor Hwang In Yeop especially.

tvN’s production, True Beauty 여신강림 is about the insecurities of Im Joo Kyung regarding her looks. Joo Kyung was labeled the ‘ugly ducking’ in school and after she decided to embark on the journey to build up her self-confidence, she refused to be seen without make-up.

One of the best historical dramas, and this is a spin-off from the real historical figure King Cheoljong in Joseon Dynasty. For those who love historical references in dramas, click here.

tvN’s production, Mr. Queen 철인왕후 is a mixture of comedy and fiction touch to alternate the real history. Jang Bong Hwan is a modern-day chef in the Blue House, an accident draws his soul. Bong Hwan woke up in the body of the young queen, Kim So Yong in the Joseon Dynasty.

This web drama is a prequel from the first season but personally prefer this version way better. Apart from the Astro’s Moonbin, the cast has a total change and SF9’s Hwiyoung caught my attention.

The Beginning takes us back to Choi Woo Hyuk’s high school time where he is a happier and cheerful self but with a secret, he wants to keep. Two schools co-ed and he met Jo Ara and a clique formed.

Sitcom from Korea after a while was drawn to begin the drama because of GOT7’s Youngjae and the cast lineup slowly reveals and that increased the level of my attention.

The sitcom drama is about a group of multinational students living in the college dorm together. Filled with love, fun, and chaos as well.
