Before I get started, here’s why I wanted to document such a post. Recently, there is a point that I’m on multiple ongoing Kdrama and found myself to be super torn between both the male lead and second lead with the female lead.
Another reason that hits me occurs while watching Extraordinary you, made me think why the support role can’t have their happy ending too?
#1 Kim Soo/ Lee Soo (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency)
This is what struck me the most. The love triangle in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, between Soo (Seo Ji Hoon), Gae Ttong and Ma Hoon (Kim Min Jae). Soo and Gae Ttong is almost entering the “happily ever after” phrase when he was kidnapped to be the King of the country.
#2 Baek Kyung (Extraordinary you)
To be honest, I was super certain that Haru (SF9’s Rowoon) should be with Dan Oh (Kim Hye Yoon) until the recent episodes when Baek Kyung (Lee Jae Wook) starts to be self aware and not able to control his real feelings for Dan Oh. The moment that reflects his love for Dan Oh grows and stop being a bastard in shadow, that is the moment I’m thinking, Baek Kyung and Dan Oh pair of childhood lovers is good together.
#3 Do Hwa (Extraordinary you, Secret)
A cheat here since Do Hwa (Jung Gun Joo) is the second lead in the comic of Extraordinary you name Secret. Do Hwa is self aware and slowly accept the fate of him only able to help Ju Da (April’s Na Eun) and Nam Joo achieve their happily ever after. However in recent episodes, Ju Da’s self aware might turn the table around!
#4 Lee Ji Hoon (Hit the Top)
Ji Hoon (Kim Min Jae) always have the thing for Woo Seung (Lee Se Young) since mid-high school but every time when he finally mask up to confess, something bounds to happen. Who knows that end up Woo Seung’s happily ever after is with Ji Hoon’s birth father that time traveled to the modern world.
#5 Ma Wang Joon (My Absolute Boyfriend)
To be frank, I am totally fine with Wang Joon (Hong Jong Hyun) end up with Da da (Girls’ Day’s MinAh) since they are the humans that was in love for seven long years.
#6 Han Woo Tak (While You Were Sleeping)
This is the first drama that I see Jung Hae In as a strong presence since Goblin. I wasn’t expecting his role to be significant initially but turns out, I love how he is there for Hong Ju (Suzy) and not crossing the line.
#7 Jung Woo Seok (Encounter)
Everyone obviously watched this because of Park Bo Gum, me too. But when I really devote myself into the story and understand why Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo) got divorce with Jung Woo Seok (Jang Seung Jo). I lost it, he is just a man trying to protect his love one from something and someone he cannot control.
