The upcoming KBS drama, Youth of May 오월의 청춘 featuring Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, and more reveal the drama poster with a confirmed premiere date and time.
The drama is set in 1980, two youngsters who were swept up by the Gwangju Uprising*. Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) is a troublemaker who hates anything predictable in life. Raise up by his single mother, he proves people wrong by being the top student and entered Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si) is a hardworking nurse who left home and lives alone in Gwangju. She is beautiful, smart, and skillful but Myung Hee is not the friendly type of person who will give comfort to sad patients.
*Gwangju Uprising is a popular uprising in the city of Gwangju, South Korea in May 1980. Estimated that around 144 people are killed in the event. The event is sometimes known as 5-18.
The teaser begins with beautiful music and a handwritten letter from Hee Tae to Myung Hee to meet in June for a date. However, the gunshot at the end of the teaser marks the beginning of a whirlwind of events that took place in South Korea.
The drama is set to premiere on 3 May 2021, 9:30 PM (KST).
