Every year, same event, TVB will showcase their upcoming dramas to attract investors and viewers. In the recent TVB 55th Anniversary event [Native title: TVB迈向55周年], they’ve showcase 13 new dramas of which there are a few that was showcased last year but did not make it in the 2021 calendar. But not to worry, we have a list of newly curated teasers for us to look forward to as well.

Let’s start with the dramas that was not covered in any other presentations before. The titles are literal translation and might differs when the drama premiere on small screen.

Doppelganger Stranger

Genre: Legal, Comedy
Native title: 双生陌生人

Starring Joe Ma, Matthew Ho, Alice Chan, Roxanne Tong, Tsui Wing, Winkie Lai and more. The drama was filmed for 4 months and now currently waiting for a slot to air. The story started with a myth, when a doppelgänger sees his/her other self, it means a bad omen.

Phantom Operation Tactic Team

Genre: Police, Investigation, Action
Native title: 隐形战队

Starring Kenneth Ma, Natalie Tong, Joel Chan, Jimmy Au, Tiffany Lau, and more. Currently still in production and filming.

The drama is set in the special police force unit, the Phantom Operation Tactic Team. Leading them is Hill Fong aka Madam Fong (Natalie Tong). Working hand in hand with them is the Counter-Terrorism Response Unit lead by Yik Sir (Jimmy Au).

The Spectator

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Horror, Romance
Native title: 旁观者

Starring Pakho Chau, Venus Wong, Joey Law, Mark Ma, Shiga Lin, and more. The drama was in production in the Summer of 2021.

The drama begins when Yiu Zi Yu (Venus Wong) aka Madam Yiu who is ultra sensitive with her senses and constantly under tremendous stress. The Rabbit’s Hole boss Wong Kun Hei (Pakho Chau) wants all his guests to forget all their troubles when they patronise the cafe. However, there is a dark secret that yet to uncover.

Fell For You

Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Native title: 童时爱上你

Starring Samantha Ko Ling, Owen Cheng, Ruco Chan, Kandy Wong, and more. The drama was in production between July to October of 2021. Only recently completed filming, they made it in the list for us to anticipate in 2022.

The light hearted romantic comedy is about a fantasy and strange encounter that tied Amanda Lei (Samantha Ko) together with Ding Kor (Owen Cheng). Amanda is a tough CEO of the Lei’s Empire, she have a steady boyfriend and right-hand man Charlie (Ruco Chan). However, an accident took place in KOL Ding Kor’s house turn her back into the elementary student mentally.

Fourty-two Chapters

Genre: Mystery, Fantasy
Native title: 四十二章经

Starring Moses Chan, Katy Kung, Zoie Tam, Kaman Kong, Judy Kwong, and more. This drama is currently still in production since September, therefore even the teaser did not reveal much of the drama.

Freedom Memories

Genre: Historical, Comedy, Youth, Showbiz
Native title: 青春不要脸

Starring Karl Ting Tze Long, Tiffany Lau, Dickson Yu, Joey Thye, Kelly Ng, and more. The drama was in production from February to May of 2021.

Gathered the young actors and actresses under TVB to best showcase what is like in the showbiz back in the1980s. The blood, sweat, tears that every single production crew and even actors have to go through in order to produce a good show.

OPM

No. of episodes: 12
Genre: Finance
Native title: OPM

Starring Roxanne Tong, Telford Wong, Ram Chiang, Benjamin Au Yeung, Bowie Cheng, Kelly Fu, and more. The drama concludes production in September 2021. The short drama focus on the finance industry stock markets and all. OPM is an alliance that gathers people across different backgrounds and expertise for sole purpose of making money.

Hello Missfortune

No. of episodes: 10
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Web drama, Fantasy
Native title: 爱上我的衰神

Starring Hubert Wu, Erica Chan, Mark Ma, Mayanne Mak, and more. The short drama was in production between April to June of 2021. The story started when Pun Siu Yu (Erica Chan) came to the other dimension and was assigned to Chan Bei Ho (Hubert Wu) as his unlucky spirit.

Your Highness is a Ruffian

No. of episodes: 25
Genre: Historical, Comedy, Action
Native title: 痞子殿下

Starring Jeannie Chan, Kalok Chow, Brian Chu, Raymond Cho, and more. The production for the drama concluded in September 2021.

The light-hearted comedy is about the life of Ji Wei (Kalok Chow), the 4th price of Bak Sheng Guo 百勝國. Even though he is a prince, no one cares about him in the palace. Nei Ke Wen Ruo (Jeannie Chan) is a princess from Kor Lian Sheng Guo 歌蓮神國. Both of them lost their memories after an accident, woke up with a new identity in a new country.

Haunted House Cleaner

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Web drama
Native title: 凶宅清潔師

Starring Tony Hung, Kelly Fu, Fred Cheng. Zhao Mian Chan (Tony Hung) and Hung Zai (Fred Cheng) are haunted house cleaners, not the ordinary cleaner you are imagining.

Brutally Young 2.0

No. of episodes: 20
Genre: Mystery, Investigation, Thriller, Action
Native title: 十八年后的终极告白2.0

The second season of Brutally Young but entirely new storyline. Same main actors Shawn Tam, Joel Chan, Raymond Cho with new blood Katy Kung, Zoie Tam, and Candice Chau.

Mystery, confession to make over 18 years. All begins with an art piece, and more curated pieces reveals stories and uncover the bitter harsh truth.

I’ve Got The Power

Previously known as Power Envoy, Super Messenger. Starring Ruco Chan, Joel Chan, Natalie Tong, Tiffany Lau, Grace Wong, and more.

This drama is about 5 supernatural humans who became street heroes while they seek justice for the helpless. All of them are not born with but unlocked their respective powers which include strength, time control, and more.

Big White Dual II

No. of episodes: 30
Genre: Medical, Romance, Politics
Native title: 白色強人II

The second season following the successful medical drama, Big White Duel II introduces two new characters. Nancy Wu will be getting heads on with Roger Kwok in the political stand for Marshall Paxton Hospital while involved in a love triangle between Kenneth Ma and Natalie Tong. Moses Chan is a new doctor joining the Emergency Unit and also an ex-boyfriend of Kelly Cheng.
