The drama is about unrequited love blooming into a relationship. Wu Bai aka DT (Hu Yi Tian) has been a fan of Ai Qin aka Appledog (Li Yi Tong) who is an e-sport goddess and teammate of his cousin. He proves himself through consistent hard work to stand on the same stage as Ai Qin to compete in the National Robot competition.

Retire from competitive robotics

After the national competition ended in Singapore, Wu Bai disappears for 3 years for multiple surgeries to heal his eyes. During the same period, Ai Qin retires from the e-sport industry and applied for a role working a normal office lady life.

3 years later, Wu Bai steps foot back in China and start up his robotics company along with his cousin Han Shang Yan (Li Xian), K&K China is formed.

Ai Qin found her lost passion and opportunity came to her to join the SP team. Her condition is to work with her initial teammates that she gave up fighting with. Meanwhile, she reunited with Wu Bai who came back after 3 years.

A decade of unrequited love

Both have an interest in another party since the competition ended in Singapore. Wu Bai fell for Ai Qin since he saw her in the robotics competition decade ago while supporting his cousin.

His return sparks the beginning of the courtship, but it was quietly tucked away when Ai Qin was poached back into the industry and as Wu Bai’s company’s competitor, SP Team.

Underground relationship

Being the first generation goddess of robotics and the current famous idol-like figure in robotics, Ai Qin and Wu Bai chose to keep their blooming relationship under wrap thinking that they are from competing teams as well.

They did not hide or mask when they are out, Ai Qin and Wu Bai only chose to not announce to the public. But they were caught off-guard by a live streamer and things blew up.

Ai Qin made a choice to switch her career path as the best way to resolve the situation. She wants to sacrifices for Wu Bai after all that he did for her.

Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship is observed here, strongly. Despite their relationship, neither Ai Qin nor Wu Bai relaxes for the competitions. To win fair and square is something they strongly believe in.

Leading up to the grand finale, both teams entered the global stage together for the first time. Having 2 teams represent China in a global stage is never before and they are firm to win it for the country.
