The drama is about different time zones, sci-fi, and how to prevent a war by traveling back in time. Kang Seo Hae (Park Shin Hye) is a soldier not by choice but to survive. She was trained to have good survival skills and in order to alternate the war, she sets on a dangerous path to find Han Tae Sul (Jo Seung Woo), the man who started it all.

The future, the war

Kang Seo Hae is about to travel back in time through the uploader in hopes to save Han Tae Sul who is the root that follows up to the war. In the future that Seo Hae is living, the country was destroyed by the nuclear bombs, and only to hide in bomb shelters and underground is the way to survive and avoid the radiation.

Seo Hae lives in the bomb shelter with her father Kang Dong Gi (Kim Jong Tae) who was a police officer. He taught her how to shoot a rifle, how to fight and survive in the dangerous future.

Control Bureau

Seo Hae is considered an illegal trespasser and was immediately on the run once she reached the timeline. Have to dress light and only able to carry one suitcase to fit the uploader, Seo Hae went back to the timeline where she was just 7-9 years old.

Choi Jae Sun (Chae Jong Hyeop) is the first person that she met, and he was a wreaked youngster who is struggling to meet ends. Seo Hae’s ability to spot the winning lotto ticket made Jae Sun curious but start to respect her and help her in return for a winning ticket to turn his life around.

The Control Bureau is lead by Hwang Hyun Seung (Choi Jung Woo), the unit is unknown to the general public, and the things they do, people they capture are fishy.

Finding Tae Sul

Seo Hae left a predicted winning lotto ticket for Jae Sun and continue her search to find Tae Sul alone. She chose the path to decrease the potential danger that she might drag Jae Sun into.

Seo Hae found Tae Sul and tries to convince why she needs to stay beside him to protect his safety. When she started to get closer to Tae Sul, danger also approaches him concurrently. Tae Sul slowly convinced that things and people around him are a danger and starts to stick to Seo Hae to find out the mastermind behind all these.

Asia Mart

Asia Mart looks like a regular Chinatown minimart but is actually a decoy of tech and operating by people from the future. President Park (Sung Dong Il) is the first batch of people who traveled back through the uploader and he hide to support his family from his past violent self.

Together he employed Bing Bing (Lee Shi Woo) who specializes in tech that helps him managed the downloader, and a pair of brothers Uhm Sun Jae (Lee Myeong Ro) and Uhm Sun Ho (Jung Ha Joon) to help him manage the place.

President Park hunts down Tae Sul as he has the key to something they desire. Countless encounters, they became frenemies with Tae Sul and Seo Hae.

Sigma

Tae Sul’s best friend and business partner Eddie Kim (Tae In Ho) as well as his psychiatrist Kim Seo Jin (Jung Hye In) appears to want the best for him, but doing things otherwise in the dark. While Eddie did not begin as the bad guy, his jealously was built up over time and his heart is closer to Seo Jin.

Seo Won Ju aka Sigma (Kim Byung Chul) is the man who started it all and plots everything, including the war. However, he can’t do anything if Tae Sul did not invent the uploader. Hence, in multiple timelines, Sigma helps Seo Hae to reach Tae Sul but always have his way of using her to get Tae Sul to build the uploader for his needs.
