Second day of the year with TVB for the annual grand award ceremony. TVB Anniversary Awards held yearly to recognise their celebrities, celebrate their growth and recognise their effort.

On 2 Jan 2022, all the stars under TVB gathered at the broadcasting station starting with the Red Carpet ceremony that started at 5:30PM. And the main event at 8PM.

Unlike the previous years, this year, TVB announced the Top 5 nominees ahead of the show and even had a photoshoot for all the nominees listed.

Best Drama: Battle of the Seven Sisters

Best Actor: Shaun Tam, Take Two

Best Actress: Rosina Lam, Battle of the Seven Sisters

Most Improved Artiste

Lesley Chiang shined in her role as Liza in Come Home Love: Lo and Behold, a Filipino maid working in Hong Kong. After that she participated in Kids’ Lives Matter, just merely 2 episodes as a sick baby’s helpless mother. She caught everyone’s attention.

Both Karl Ting and Joey Law started their journey from Mr. Hong Kong. Karl Ting prove himself as a host and showing his confidence taking over the stage. For dramas, he participated in The Line Watchers as well as Battle of the Seven Sisters.

As for Joey Law, he gain recognition through his first male lead drama, Hong Kong Love Stories last year. This year, he show us more in The Line Watchers, The Runner, A Love of No Words.

Best Supporting Actor: Brian Chu, Take Two

Last year on the same stage, Brian Chu’s improvement was recognised when he received the Most Improved Artiste award. This year, he continue to prove that he did not slack off and still working hard to gain a professional recognition.

Best Supporting Actress: Yoyo Chen, Plan ‘B’

Best TV Host

  • Male: Johnson Lee
  • Female: Janis Chan

Favorite TV Partnership: Come Home Love: Lo and Behold – Jack Hui and Mandy Lam

Most Popular TV Character

Ali Lee’s first Most Popular TV Character award, second time standing on the stage from her Best Actress award back in 2018.

Kenneth Ma’s third Most Popular TV Character award, and 4th time standing here from his Best Actor just last year.

Malaysia’s Most Popular TV Character

Malaysia’s Most Popular Drama: Kids’ Lives Matter

Best Dressed Award

This is a new category of award added to 2021’s list. Best Dressed Award voted by every media partner attended the event.


Conclude, the biggest winner for tonight is Shaun Tam. Claiming both the local and Malaysia’s Best Actor/ Most Popular TV Character award. Apart from that, he was voted the Best Dressed (Male) as well.
