The story unfolds in a mysterious restaurant where your personal wish is granted but there is a price to pay. Welcome to The Witch’s Diner, run by a witch Jo Hee Ra (Song Jihyo) Jung Jin (Nam Ji Hyun) who came into the picture to co-run the place with her. Adding a new part-timer Lee Gil Young (Chae Jong Hyeop).

The revenge plan

Jung Jin is a hardworking individual that did not in any way get recognition at work. She hit the bottom line and call quits. Committing with all their savings on a restaurant with her mother Ae Sook (So Hee Jung) to begin their new life.

Just when the pair thought everything will get better, they were scammed by the previous owner big time. Now they have a poor business, short-handed and unable to recoup their money. Jo Hee Ra walks into the empty restaurant and offers Jung Jin a wish.

She took it and realized the previous owner is found dead in her new restaurant the very next day.

The price to pay, a story to tell

Jung Jin’s price to pay for that revenge is to co-run The Witch’s Diner with Hee Ra. After knowing the price to pay will cost a leg and arm, she was bugged with guilt every time there is a new customer walks in.

Lee Gil Yong, a newly transferred student in the neighborhood was being bullied after standing up for his reunited middle school classmate. He is a hardworking and down-to-earth student. Inspire and trained to set on the path of being athletic, but it is over when his old injury relapse after being bullied by Ko Hyun Woo (Baek Sung Chul) and his gang.

Trying to find new directions, he applied to be a part-timer at The Witch’s Diner and Hee Ra accepted without Jung Jin’s knowledge. Giving a special deal for her new hire, Hee Ra offered him a wish and he can choose to take revenge.

The upcoming witch

Instead of taking revenge or making Jung Jin fall for him, Gil Yong’s wish is to stay by Jung Jin’s side forever. Saying that taking revenge will not alter his future, using powers to make Jung Jin fall for him is not real and he rather not. Hee Ra is impressed by Gil Yong.

Jung Jin seems to be able to read and see all the inscriptions in the recipe book, and the bottles of desire and ingredients. After listening to each customer’s wish, Hee Ra passed the baton to Jung Jin to whip out a dish.

There is a hidden secret behind why Jung Jin is able to read and slowly walking up the path to becoming a witch.


Overall, this is a nice and sweet drama. The moral of the story is to be careful of what you wish for and the implications behind it. The ending is a new beginning and really hope there will be a season 2 for it.
